CHA Services

Community Health Association

The mission of Community Health Association is to promote individual and community health, to prevent disease, and to provide services which maximize health, independence and quality of life to the residents of Richmond and West Stockbridge.

CHA provides the following services for the residents of Richmond and West Stockbridge:

Clinics
Office
Daily walk in hours for routine screening
Venipuncture for lab tests
Administration of injections, such as B12
Medication instruction, management, and teaching
Immunizations: annual flu clinics in West Stockbridge and Richmond
Offer interpretation to lab results
Interpret medical records
Assist with informational research on the web

Education Lectures
Twice a year we sponsor dinners and medical lectures in Richmond and West Stockbridge. The topics are based upon the promotion of wellness and increased understanding of disease processes. For example, we’ve given talks on tick borne illnesses, Medicare, living with cancer, pain management, orthopedic issues, diet, exercise, metabolic diseases, health care proxy and planning, for example.

Health Promotion Skilled Nursing Visits
We offer free in home skilled nursing visits for residents. These visits also involve care coordination or case management with other agencies or organizations to help meet the needs of the individual or family.

Communicable and Infectious Disease Surveillance and Follow Up
CHA is responsible for reporting and following up with diseases that fall into this specific category as defined by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. CHA will carry out follow up, education, surveillance and if required, isolation and quarantine.

Emergency Dispensing
In the event of a medical emergency that requires residents to receive antibiotics, vaccines or prophylaxis in the event of an outbreak or bioterrorist event, the Community Health association will participate in the planning and implementation of a dispensing plan for those homebound residents who are unable to get to a Berkshire County Board of Health’s designated Pittsfield EDS site.
